Dr Sujatha Kalava is an Australian-trained Consultant Psychiatrist with extensive experience supporting adolescents and adults across a wide range of mental health presentations. She is known for her warm, compassionate approach and her commitment to providing evidence-based, person-centred care tailored to each individual's needs and goals.

Dr Kalava has a special interest in ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, complex trauma, addiction, personality disorders, and perinatal mental health. She is also experienced in supporting individuals living with chronic pain and co-occurring mental health concerns.

At Gender Voice Centre, Dr Kalava provides comprehensive psychiatric assessments, medication management, treatment recommendations, and ongoing psychiatric care. She welcomes referrals for both general mental health concerns and neurodivergent individuals seeking ADHD assessment and support.

Dr Kalava is passionate about creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment where people feel heard, understood, and empowered throughout their healthcare journey. She welcomes referrals for gender-diverse and LGBTQIA+ individuals and is committed to providing affirming, respectful care.

In addition to general psychiatric care, Dr Kalava provides WPATH-informed psychiatric assessments and reports to support individuals seeking gender-affirming medical and surgical care. She works collaboratively with clients and their treating teams to ensure assessments are completed thoughtfully, respectfully, and in line with current best-practice standards.

Dr Kalava consults Australia-wide via telehealth and offers appointments for adolescents and adults.
