Do I need a professional mic and camera?

Any phone, laptop, desktop, or iPad with a built-in microphone will work perfectly fine. While a higher-quality microphone can provide clearer audio, it’s not essential. We are trained to detect subtle changes in your voice, so there’s no need to invest in additional equipment if you don’t already have it.

How do I get a referral?

Speech Pathology: You will need a Chronic Conditions Management Plan from your GP (medicare rebate of approximately $62). Please have it addressed to Gender Voice Centre, Sydney 2000, and email it to admin@gendervoicecentre.com.au. 
Psychology: You will need a Mental Health Care Plan (medicare rebate between $98-$145), referred to Gender Voice Centre, and emailed to admin@gendervoicecentre.com.au
Psychiatry: You will need to ask your GP for a 296 initial assessment referral (medicare rebate of $280) and email it to admin@gendervoicecentre.com.au

A referral is not required to begin your sessions. only if you wish to access the reduced session rate.

Speech Pathology: Evidence-Based Practice recommends weekly therapy sessions for optimal results. However, we understand that life happens, and skipping a week won’t significantly impact your progress. That said, incorporating daily practice will help you achieve the best outcomes.

How much is Speech Pathology?

Speech Pathology is $120 for a 30 minute session. With a medicare plan, you will receive half of this back when you claim your rebate (yourself) online.

We also work with NDIS participants at the hourly rate per the NDIS guidelines.

Our psychiatry services are provided by Consultant Psychiatrists and may be eligible for Medicare rebates with a valid referral from your GP or specialist.

Psychology is $233 per hour. With a medicare plan, you can clam back between $98 and $145 depending on your psychologist.

We also see NDIS clients at this same rate.

Do you do the medicare claims for me?

No, we ask you to please claim your medicare rebate through Mygov>Medicare>"make a claim". 
For Speech Pathology and Psychology, you need to use the details of your paid receipt and claim the rebate, which you will recieve it in your nominated bank account a few days later.
